Live in visits.
Live ins are the pet sitter being with your pets most of the time throughout a 24 hr visit. Pet sitter will need to leave on and off to do things they need to do, get food, shower etc, or take short trips to regular clients. This could total up to 4-6 hours through out the day.

If you need your pet sitter there for the entire 24 hours the cost of the visit will increase to and hourly rate.

24 hour visits now need to be approved and added by management. Please email if you are looking for this option. Unfortunately we may not be able to approve them all because we have a limited staff.
No live ins available during Thanksgiving week or Christmas to New years week.

Sharing Pet visits with a Family member or Friend
Sharing pet visits with Family and/or Friends.

We have no problem at all sharing our time taking care of your pets with a family member or a friend.

We have just noticed an increase lately, so we wanted to address some things to make the time we share as smooth as possible.

Communication is Key.
When we work together with one of our own pet sitters, we have our app to access their notes. So, if anything is off, a little different etc. We can see that right away and reach out to the pet sitter for a little further information if we need. We can also see everything they have done during their pet visit.

If a friend/family member is there and they notice something off, we have no way of knowing unless they leave us a note.
Or typically they are not looking for the same stuff we are. I.E Poop. This is a big one with all animals. We need to make sure they are going poop, and that their poop looks normal.

On the same note, we have had some family/friends leave rude notes, demanding we do something a certain way. We will not be listening to those notes, we will do exactly what you as the client have asked of us. We will be happy to mention it in a journal message just to make sure we are doing it correct.

Medication is another one.

If it's just us giving medication that is great, but we worry that maybe someone else might be giving it to them again.
Or if they are sharing that responsibility, are they giving it to them at the correct time of day, with or without food, how much etc. We have no way of knowing.

*****I am going to have every sign this because a new policy will need to be in place, excusing Creature comforts from any liability while sharing pet visits with someone outside of Creature comforts.

Also, something we have encountered is cleanliness.
We always wash dishes we use, wipe down counter tops, clean pet food bowls, if needed sweep or vacuum.
We want you to know your pets are being care for, but your house looks like we haven't even been there.
We are running across family/friends who are leaving dirty dishes in the sink, papers and stuff on the counters. Just generally not cleaning up after themselves. We never want you to think we have made the mess, so we clean up. But at the same time that's not really fair, the other person should be responsible for cleaning their own mess.

We have also encountered being locked out of the house. Typically, by a screen door being locked, and we lose access to our lockbox to enter the house. If you have a garage door code, please add it to our system for back up. Or we can relocate the lock box to another secure location on your property so if a mistake happens, we can still get in.

Thank you for taking the time to read and acknowledge.
Like I said we have no problems at all working with your family/friends to care for your animals. We just want to make sure there is open communication, without someone being rude. They understand that we are coming in also, and they need to clean their own messes up. If the mess thing continues, we will need to add a surcharge for cleaning up after the other person.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Monica LaCross

People unexpectedly walking in while we are in the middle of a pet visit.
Hi Creature Comforts Family.

Sorry I would like to address an issue we have come across a few times.

Family and friends stopping in and walking inside while we are in the middle of a pet visit.

First this is very scary for our pet sitter. We are not expecting someone to come in behind us.

Second if this is a first visit with a pet and we are in the middle of building trust with that pet and someone walks in and takes that pets attention, we are then starting over with the process.

If this continues to happen we will contact your emergency person to come take care of the pet or pets and stop all services. This is scary as woman alone in a house we cannot tolerate it.

If we have to go to the drastic measure we will still be charging you for all services.

Thank you, Monica

Time frames.
Hello everyone.

I thought since it’s about to be summer and getting busy I would like to remind everyone about service time frames.

Example 7-9am.

If you choose this option, we will arrive anywhere between 7-9am. We do choose which visit we arrive at first depending on a few situations.

Examples of those situations.
If Medication is required.
Dogs without a doggy door.
There are more that come up but these are the most common.

Animals that are free fed are typically put towards the end of the time frame.

**** We always do take request at what time you would like us there, and will do our very best to be close to it. But we never guarantee a specific time.

We do have the 5-6am and 6-7am options for an additional surcharge if you would like to guarantee an early visit. Also we have 9-10pm and 10-11pm for an additional surcharge if you would like a super late visit.

Thank you so much, Monica
